Caerphilly Castle

During a visit to Cardiff we took the opportunity to visit the medieval Caerphilly Castle.  Built in the 13^th century by Gilbert de Clare, today Caerphilly Castle is still an impressive building despite parts of the Castle showing its age.

The weather on the day was terrible.  Fortunately though it brightened up as we arrived at the castle and gave us a chance to explore and take some photographs of the castle.
